Heather of Gergask

 At the annual autumn show of Pedigree Highland Cattle at Oban, Richard's  home bred "Heather of Gergask" was Champion of the Show. The judge, David Soutar, who is the Highland Cattle Society's vice-president and farms director of the Strathmore Farming Company at Glamis, described the heifer as "outstanding - the one I'd like to take home". His choice as reserve champion was Richard's only other female, the three year old heifer Helen of Tain.

Bred by Jim MacConnachie of Grantown on Spey the Champion fetched 4,700 guinea's at the sale.
